Job Description

The District Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of store operations to maximize sales and profitability and to support Company business objectives within a defined number of stores. The District Manager will promote and develop a sales culture within all district stores and provide exceptional customer shopping experience.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Sales and Business Growth Development

  • Drive district sales and profitability; knows overall district and store level KPIs; develop a plan to improve or sustain business results
  • Support store teams to achieve or exceed store sales goals including plan, comparison, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by executing marketing plans, maintaining high standards of merchandise placement and integrating all corporate strategies throughout district
  • Meet or exceed deadlines; follow up with district teams to meet deadlines and to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support district store teams to build brand awareness and promote company image through partnerships and activities within the community, the shopping center in which they are located and by planning and executing grassroots marketing activities
  • Model and manage excellent Selling expectations and ensure that all customers are treated with the highest level of care in all district stores; resolve all customer concerns and requests quickly and effectively
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to Regional Manager on Company initiatives, projects, real estate and store or market business trends; play a key role in the broad strategic planning of stores within district

Staff Development and Management

  • Communicate clear expectations and hold district team and self-accountable to all Company standards of performance and model and uphold Company core values
  • Responsible for conducting regular store visits, ensuring strong business acumen across all levels of leadership and providing visual presentation direction and training
  • Recognize the talents needed to accomplish district objectives; assesses leadership “bench-strength” and takes action to attract, coach, and develop leaders
  • Ensure all district stores achieve optimal staffing levels, provide a quality on-boarding experience for all Associates and cultivate a collaborative learning environment within the district
  • Recognize and reward behaviors that are in alignment and support Company guidelines to promote a high-performance team and maximize Associate performance through consistent and effective coaching and feedback
  • Partner with Human Resources Manager to create individual development plans that support performance needs and career growth for direct reports
  • Resolve Associate performance issues in partnership with Regional Manager and HR Manager
  • Fosters partnerships with peers, supervisor and Corporate partners to support Regional and Company strategies

Cost Management

  • Monitor and manage expenses to achieve district, store and company profitability including payroll and all other expenses
  • Ensure that all Associates are in compliance with company policies and procedures and the accuracy of bank deposits and paperwork; conduct operational audits in accordance with Company guidelines
  • Ensure proper store maintenance procedures are followed and supply and material requisitions are executed in a timely manner
  • Implement and enforce all store operations and loss prevention procedures to control inventory
  • Maximize revenue and minimize expenses

Requirements

  • Education/Experience· High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred· 5+ years retail management and/or proven multi-unit experience and success
  • Knowledge/Skills/Certifications· Excellent verbal and written communications skills· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills· Ability to provide feedback and manage conflict· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound business decisions· Knowledge of retail selling and visual presentation· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand for entire shift, lift 30 lbs and use equipment such as hammers, ladders and merchandising hardware
