Who We Are- Northwest Center has been a vendor at Amazon for over 20 years. The Northwest Center at Amazon division has grown to over 360 employees, providing a wide variety of customer service support on Amazon's thriving campuses throughout the nation. Our team works in a unique, fast-paced corporate setting on Amazon's campuses to provide first-rate customer service-focused programs to our clients while also generating revenue that funds Northwest Center's mission of inclusion.

The Banana Stand- Amazon opened Seattle's first Community Banana stand in late 2015 as a public service. Bananas are seen as a healthy, fully compostable, and affordable snack. Northwest Center plays a key role by staffing Amazon's stands with enthusiastic "Banistas."

The Role- We're looking for a Supervisor to lead our Banana Stand team in the Puget Sound area. In this role, you'll oversee daily operations, coach and support team members, and ensure every customer interaction is exceptional.

You will work closely with our team, helping them grow through regular feedback, and one-on-one support. From handling escalated issues to streamlining processes and collaborating with vendors, you'll keep things running smoothly while building a positive, high-performing team culture.

Location: Seattle & Bellevue, WA

Hours: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am- 6:00 pm and Saturdays (1st and 3rd of every month) from 8AM - 4PM with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Starting Hourly Rate: $31.08 per hour | Full Hourly Range: $31.08 - $39.88 per hour

What You Will Do:

Operational Excellence

  • Provide day-to-day direction and leadership to the Banana Stand team
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels within stands, making sure staff are onsite and prepared for operations at scheduled start times
  • Monitor the daily ordering of bananas and quality control of product
  • Ensure program service level agreements and operation standards are met or exceeded
  • Work with Lead to monitor metrics and analyze trends identifying process improvements where needed
  • Support management of inventory including uniforms, equipment and supplies

People

  • Support employee development through individualized goals and training plans
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and mentoring to ensure team members achieve established goals
  • Manage performance by conducting regular evaluations and providing timely feedback
  • Support hiring process including interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and positive morale
  • Work collaboratively across the organization with different job levels and departments
  • Contribute to a positive work environment that encourages retention and growth

Customer Experience

  • Model exceptional customer service standards for the team
  • Handle escalated situations with customers professionally and effectively
  • Maintain cleanliness standards and overall visual presence of stands
  • Act as liaison between Northwest Center, Amazon and vendor partners to ensure continuity across locations

Who You Are:

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 + years of leadership experience with a preference for experience managing teams over 10 + employees
  • 2 years of customer service or administrative support experience
  • Previous experience in food service or community engagement roles
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Passion for Northwest Center's mission of inclusion and ability to thrive in a diverse environment
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism in all situations
  • Calm and composed under pressure, with strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance big-picture thinking

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced setting

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to move within a 1.5-mile radius, including walking between various Amazon buildings.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit at a computer workstation for up to 8 hours per workday.
  • Fine motor skills to operate computer equipment and other office machinery.
  • Vision: Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Hearing: Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
  • Dog-friendly environment with over 1,000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs should consider this aspect of the work environment
  • May occasionally require arriving early, staying late on short notice, or working evening and weekend shifts
  • Travel between multiple locations within Puget Sound region required
  • Must be able to handle bananas without allergic reaction
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to work in conditions below 40 degrees for up to 3 hours
  • Flexible schedule required including early mornings and occasional weekends
