Job Description
Technical Support Specialist – Energy Rebates Program (HOMES/HEAR)
Empower professionals. Advance sustainability. Make a difference.
Everblue is on a mission to help individuals and organizations build a more sustainable world through industry-leading training, certifications, and technology solutions. We're seeking a dynamic, sales-oriented Technical Customer Service & Sales Associate to be the trusted guide for our customers-helping them navigate our programs, enroll in the right training, and achieve their career goals.
What You'll Do
- Respond to Inbound Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for applicants, contractors, and homeowners seeking support with the HOMES and HEAR energy rebates programs via phone, email, live chat, and web portal. Deliver prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance regarding rebate applications, program requirements, and technical documentation.
- Guide and Advise: Assist customers in understanding eligibility criteria, application steps, and the distinctions between HOMES and HEAR programs. Clearly explain program benefits, required documentation, and timelines to ensure applicants can make informed decisions.
- Application Processing Support: Accurately process and track support requests, application submissions, and status updates. Maintain detailed records in the CRM to ensure seamless follow-up and resolution of customer issues.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the online application portal, document uploads, and account access. Clarify program guidelines and escalate complex technical or eligibility questions to the appropriate team members as needed.
- Proactive Outreach: Conduct outbound communications to applicants and past participants to provide updates, request additional information, and assist with incomplete applications. Support re-engagement and renewal efforts as appropriate.
- Customer Success: Ensure every interaction is empathetic, clear, and solution-oriented. Address questions about rebate status, next steps, and program timelines to provide a smooth and supportive experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program administrators, marketing, and technical teams to share customer insights, troubleshoot systemic issues, and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the support experience, recommend process improvements, and contribute to a culture of professionalism, empathy, and continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
- Customer Support Experience: Background in technical support, customer service, or help desk roles—ideally with experience in government programs, energy efficiency, or utility rebates.
- Communication Skills: Strong empathy, active listening, and the ability to translate complex program rules into clear guidance for diverse audiences.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable learning new systems, troubleshooting web-based platforms, and guiding customers through online processes.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple inquiries and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech Savvy: Experience with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and quick adoption of new technologies.
- Team Player: Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
Why Join Us?
- Mission-Driven Impact: Play a key role in advancing energy efficiency and supporting homeowners and contractors in accessing valuable rebates through the HOMES and HEAR programs.
- Growth & Flexibility: Opportunities for professional development and hybrid work after an initial in-office period.
- Supportive Culture: Join a responsive, innovative team that values creativity, collaboration, and a sense of humor.
