The Environmental Division is looking for a Senior GL Underwriting Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate would be able to work a hybrid schedule out of one of the following offices, Boston MA, NYC, or Exton PA. We are also open to remote candidates as well.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Evaluates and underwrites General Liability and Site Pollution Liability new and renewal business in accordance with Company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
- Assists Senior Underwriting Product Manager adjust rating models as needed
- Analyzes risk data to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms.
- Collaborates with brokers and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify details.
- Orders and evaluates additional reports and screens, loss history reports, outside inspections, etc., to inform decisions.
- Ensures proper documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.
- Evaluates existing policies for potential renewal or modification. Communicates underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
- Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
- Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers, focusing on generating new business and retaining profitable business.
- Interprets, explains, and promotes products and services to drive market growth.
- Leverages advanced marketing techniques to interpret, explain, and promote the Company's products to brokers and agents.
- Monitors market trends and competition to identify opportunities for product enhancements and marketing strategies.
- Organizes and participates in marketing initiatives, including presentations, industry events, and broker/agent meetings to showcase products and services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Generally, a minimum of 7 years of experience in General Liability Underwriting.
- Scope of Job/Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Performs work under general supervision and technical direction. Familiar with moderately complex concepts, practices and procedures. Works with authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. Maintains strong knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations. Demonstrates strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong negotiation and decision-making ability. Position requires occasional travel.

$100,000.00 -$165,000.00
