Job Description
Main responsibility is supporting SunEnergy1's Generator Interconnection function and Transmission/Distribution Strategy related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Support on managing the Generator Interconnection Processes associated with the company's Generator Interconnection portfolio of utility scale solar and energy storage projects, including pre-application feasibility analysis, interconnection application submission, interconnection study and agreement process, construction milestone management, and interconnection invoice payment tracking.
- Prospecting optimal points of interconnection based on continuous market research and technical analyses of Transmission and Distribution Systems across the US.
- Review and verify interconnection study results for optimization of project cost and time estimates
- Ongoing analyses during projects' Interconnection Study Processes for continued evaluation of project viability, interconnection costs and time estimates.
- Support the efforts of coordination with Land Acquisition, Engineering, Permitting, EPC, and Operations teams to develop a strong pipeline of solar and energy storage projects.
- Provide technical support for project acquisition activities.
- Create and maintain internal databases from publicly available information pertaining Generator Interconnection, including but not limited to generator interconnection queues, study reports, interconnection processes and procedures.
- Data mine databases and other large data sets to support generator interconnection prospecting and project advancement strategies.
- Develop and maintain expertise on the current Interconnection Processes and Regulatory Policy of US RTO/ISO and IOUs to help inform executive management of industry changes and trends for future development.
- Help manage consultant and other service provider activities.
- Work closely with Project Management to help manage interconnection project accounts.
- Must be highly productive when working individually as well as with members of other groups.
Candidate profile:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with power flow studies
- Working knowledge of TARA, PSSE and PSCAD preferred
- Familiar with RTO/ISO interconnection process and tariff requirements
- RTO/ISO experience preferred
- Previous experience in PMP preferred
- Travel up to 25%
