Position Summary: The Corporate Director of Resident Experience is a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for shaping and advancing Experience, Lifestyle and Memory care programs across all communities within the Maplewood and Inspīr brands. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this role plays a pivotal part in elevating the resident experience through innovation, brand consistency, and operational excellence. This individual will lead the development and implementation of engaging, trend-forward programming that aligns with company culture, fosters community engagement, and enhances the overall wellbeing of our residents.
The Director serves as a visionary collaborator, partnering with Home office departments-including but not limited to marketing, culinary, HR, and Care-to ensure that experiences across both brands reflect our mission, embrace evolving technologies, and remain at the forefront of industry innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence, Brand Standardization, & Creativity
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Experience, Lifestyle and Memory Care Programing/ Resident Activity operations across all communities, maintaining consistent best in class brand identity and excellence in service delivery.
- Implement and refine scalable best practices that promote consistency while allowing for personalization that meets local and individual resident needs.
- Lead with a strong focus on time management, prioritization, and accountability across locations to maximize productivity and resident engagement.
- Foster an environment rooted in compassion, creativity, and purpose-driving a culture of wellness, joy, and inclusivity.
Innovation, Creativity & Trend Integration
- Embrace emerging trends in senior living, wellness, and memory care to keep programs fresh, relevant, and inspiring.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies that enhance resident engagement, connection, and quality of life.
- Encourage experimentation, ideation, and continuous improvement in Experience, Lifestyle and memory care experiences.
- Promote innovative partnerships, entertainment, enrichment, and wellness opportunities to enhance the overall resident journey.
Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, vendors, and internal teams to expand offerings and reinforce our presence as Best in class industry leader.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, culinary, Care, and operations teams to ensure program alignment with brand strategy.
- Serve as a strategic liaison to residents, families, and staff to gather insights, strengthen connections, and cultivate an empowered, engaged community.
Training, Development & Leadership Coaching
- Design and deliver onboarding and continuing education programs for Experience, Lifestyle and Memory Care Directors, ensuring they are equipped to lead with excellence and innovation.
- Identify professional development needs and create opportunities for ongoing skill enhancement and leadership growth.
- Foster a culture of learning, mentorship, and creativity through coaching, peer collaboration, and recognition of excellence.
Program Development & Oversight
- Co-create and implement resident-centric programs that support physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual wellbeing.
- Champion personalization, dignity, and engagement-ensuring every experience is meaningful and reflective of resident preferences.
- Oversee lifestyle calendars and memory care engagement models to ensure vibrancy, variety, and inclusiveness.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor program performance metrics and resident satisfaction data to identify trends, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Leverage feedback and analytics to inform decision-making, inspire innovation, and elevate the resident experience.
- Conduct regular community visits to assess implementation, provide support, and reinforce brand standards.
Strategic Planning & Regulatory Compliance
- Support executive leadership in shaping long-term strategic goals for Experience, Lifestyle and memory care initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local regulations and industry best practices.
- Stay current with industry developments and legislative changes that may impact program delivery or resident outcomes.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in healthcare administration, hospitality, gerontology, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in senior living, wellness, hospitality, or healthcare, with specific expertise in lifestyle and memory care.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams across multiple locations, with strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and resident engagement.
- Technologically proficient and able to evaluate and implement digital engagement platforms and operational tools.
- Collaborative, visionary, and results driven.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel regularly to different communities across all states served by the company to ensure consistency and quality of resident experience and memory care programs.
