Chief Financial Officer

About the Position: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a critical member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial direction and management for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). This position ensures the alignment of the agency's financial strategies with its mission to promote better health outcomes for Oklahomans through innovative and accessible mental health and substance use services.

The CFO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the agency's financial operations, including budget development and oversight, financial reporting, compliance with federal and state regulations, and effective financial management in a managed care environment. The role also includes providing expert financial advising to support data-driven decision-making.

As a leader in fiscal accountability, the CFO fosters transparency, ensures fiscal responsibility, and drives excellence in financial operations to support the agency's core values and strategic goals. This position requires a collaborative approach, fostering strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the development and implementation of long-term organizational initiatives that enhance service delivery and outcomes.

Job Type/Salary:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least six years of progressive professional experience in financial management, analysis, or strategic planning.
  • A minimum of three years in a leadership role, including supervisory or executive-level responsibilities.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated leadership capability may be considered.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license
