Job Summary:
The Payments Operations Specialist is a key role in the daily processing of payments in Deposit Operations. This role will facilitate domestic and international wire transfer requests, ACH transactions, and other payments related functions while mitigating fraud risk by adhering to Bank policies, procedures and electronic funds transfer regulations. As a payment's operations specialist, you will coordinate, review, and release wire and ACH payments for clients, internal partners, and other teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process incoming and outgoing wire transfer requests (domestic, international USD and FX) promptly and accurately.
- Process outgoing and incoming ACH transactions promptly and accurately.
- Process payment exceptions.
- Strong experience with Wire transfers.
- Strong background with ACH transactions.
- Conduct thorough due diligence to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
- Monitor and identify potential fraud or suspicious activities related to wire transfers, promptly reporting any anomalies to the appropriate department.
- Communicate with clients, both internally and externally, to resolve inquiries, provide updates, and ensure a smooth payment experience.
- Perform reconciliation and balancing activities to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of wire transfer transactions.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization, suggesting enhancements, and participating in system upgrades or testing.
- Maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
- Perform routine client service duties; balancing GLs and other daily maintenance operations reports, and client transactions as requested
- May assist in back-office operations or Treasury Management, or for back-up to other back-office personnel
- Understands government regulations and assists management in ensuring compliance with applicable banking regulations, with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act. Other related compliance areas (as they pertain to Operations):

Qualifications and Skills:
Two or more years of wire/ACH payment experience preferably at a bank
Outstanding organizational skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with FIS (Horizon), Q2 Online Banking, Fedline Advantage, and wire automation application/tool preferred
Knowledge of Banking Regulations:
Electronic Banking (Reg E)
Deposit Regulations (Reg CC, D, DD)
AML/BSA
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
