About the Role:

The Physician ("Physician") is an integral member of Community Reach Center's Pediatric Practices ("Division") Division. The Physician under limited supervision, provides direct comprehensive medical evaluation, treatment planning and medication management at the site assigned. Participates as a member of a treatment team and assures clinicians receive appropriate medical input. Additionally, the Physician will have other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by the Chief Medical Officer.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides medical assessment pharmacological management, medication education, treatment planning and procedures as assigned.
  • Participate in On-Call services as agreed.
  • Consults with Clinicians, Case Managers, other program staff, and family members of consumers, for ongoing clinical needs and treatment plans.
  • Informs and educates other clinical staff in salient aspects of consumer health and medical problems as well as appropriate evidence-based use of medication.
  • Ensures the medical services provided meet professional standards.
  • Functions as a team member, giving and receiving feedback, using conflict resolution, problem-solving skills, and participation in program planning.
  • Coordinates ongoing treatment and schedule with clinical supervisor, seeking appropriate support and direction.
  • Keeps current on new research and state of the art knowledge regarding mental illness, especially psychopharmacology according to prevailing standards from professional organizations and community.
  • Provides care to consumers in a manner that recognizes the human potential, is empathic and demonstrates positive regard while promoting safety, comfort and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should be board certified or board eligible. Experience assessing persons with chronic mental illness, dual diagnosis, mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance disorders, in both adults, children, and/or adolescents.

  • Holds an MD or DO degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school
  • Completed US residency program
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Colorado
  • Valid DEA license
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Mon-Thurs, Brighton and Thornton
