Job Description

The Senior Risk Analyst is responsible for the overall analysis, administration, servicing, and compliance of a portfolio of Agency Special Servicing (Freddie Mac, Single Family Rental, and Fannie Mae SAM) loans, which are in default, considered to be in imminent default, or REO. The position requires proactive asset management and timely resolution of the assigned portfolio of distressed CRE mortgage loans.

Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)

This position will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Prepare and review asset status reports
  • Collect and provide monthly financial and rent roll analysis to evaluate performance and note any significant variances
  • Market research and analysis
  • Perform Net Present Value analysis
  • Prepare Desktop property valuations and evaluate 3rd party valuations
  • Ensure accurate Agency Special Servicing/SAM Loan Transfers including:
  • Review and interpretation of legal documents
  • Identification and communication of any exceptions or discrepancies among internal reports, third party reports, and loan documents
  • Prepare standard notices
  • Manage various workflows related to performing and non-performing loans, including:
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: examining the operating performance and credit trends of a property or group of properties comprising a loan's collateral
  • Administration of loan reserve accounts and borrower funding requests
  • Accounting and tracking of loan level expenses related to loan workouts
  • Contribute to the credit and workout discussions on the monthly Special Servicing call with senior management
  • Assist with compliance and investor reporting projects
  • Perform data analysis and ad-hoc reporting of various portfolio metrics.
  • Review documentation relative to any Escrowed Reserves to determine and recommend release of funds held in connection with property improvement projects.
  • Provide administrative support functions for the Agency Asset Management Platform.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Prepare and track monthly check and reimbursement requests for Special Servicing loans.
  • Involvement in supporting technology initiatives.
  • Assist with departmental projects as needed.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline or equivalent work experience strongly preferred.

Experience: 2+ years' experience in commercial real estate and/or financial analysis. Multifamily CRE experience is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in computer skills, especially Excel/Word applications
  • Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational/time management skills are essential to the success of this position.
