Job Description
Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Charleston, SC Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Current Green Card Holder

What You’ll Do
- Design with Safety First
- Embed OSHA and corporate safety standards into every stage of project design and construction.
- Write Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Work instructions for new equipment.
- Lead Capital Projects
- Manage multiple mechanical / electromechanical projects—often across sites—from scope definition through start-up.
- Partner with lead electrical engineers, vendors, and contractors to hit cost, schedule, and performance targets.
- Collaborate & Problem-Solve
- Facilitate FMEAs, TPM workshops, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) to engage operations and maintenance teams.
- Define critical spare parts lists and preventive-maintenance plans for new assets.
- Own Commissioning & Handover
- Provide on-site leadership during installation, start-up, and performance validation; generate clear status reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure a smooth transition to production by training operators and maintenance staff.
Requirements
What You Bring
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- 3+ years of project or manufacturing engineering leadership in a plant environment.
- Proven track record managing full-cycle equipment projects—from AutoCAD layouts to commissioning.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (or similar CAD), MS Office, and solid project-management discipline.
- Working knowledge of TPM principles and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and produce concise reports.
- Willingness to travel up to ~10 % (higher during major outages) to support multi-site projects.
