Job Description
Element Outdoor Living is a dynamic, growth-focused and progressive landscape design, installation and maintenance company, located by the coast in Wilmington, North Carolina. We have an opportunity for a Controller to join our fast-moving, growing business. Our Controller will ensure the accurate completion of A/R, A/P, preparation of financial statements, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability. At Element, you'll be part of a dynamic team that is collectively motivated to consistently improve both personally & professionally. We offer a competitive compensation package for our Controller including a base salary of $90,000 - $100,000 plus health insurance, paid time off and paid holidays.
Requirements for our Controller:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role;
- Complex problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in QuickBooks;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
- Strong knowledge base of compliance issues.
Responsibilities for our Controller:
- Overseeing the general accounting function including cash management, reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management;
- Processing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable;
- Preparing deposits;
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements;
- Completing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations;
- Reviewing all payroll, tax reports, annual reports;
- Providing guidance and direction to the bookkeeper for the appropriate processing of payroll and entry of expenses;
- Analyzing statements and other reports to offer recommendations on financial performance.
