About the Role

For our Sr. Manager - Carrier Management (LTL Strategic Procurement) role, Uber Freight is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Carrier Manager to join our Carrier Management leadership team. This role focuses on developing and executing Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) procurement strategies for our clients, managing carrier relationships, driving continuous improvement in transportation procurement processes, and managing a team of Procurement Analysts. This position will work at our office in Greensboro, North Carolina or Rogers, Arkansas.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Lead the development and execution of LTL strategic procurement solutions for clients.
  • Analyze bid data and evaluate compliance against final carrier award scenarios.
  • Continuously assess client shipping data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Provide expert-level support in Tableau for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal benchmarking and year-over-year performance analysis.
  • Perform data mining and LTL scorecarding to support procurement decisions.
  • Design and maintain the teams procurement tracking reports and performance dashboards.
  • Participate in RFIs to gather detailed shipment profiles and operational requirements.
  • Stay current on market trends and price new business accordingly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Support and collaborate with other Carrier Managers with carrier strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a best-in-class LTL product.

Travel

Occasional travel required (Less than 25%)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in LTL transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Minimum of 3 years People Management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in LTL transportation, either at a shipper, carrier, or 3PL.
  • Deep understanding of LTL industry dynamics, cost drivers, and carrier networks.
  • Familiarity with federal transportation regulations (DOT, FMCSA, CSA, HOS).
  • Proficiency in Tableau and other BI tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
  • Experienced with Jaggaer procurement tool
  • Familiar with various AI tools
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
