FACT Team Registered Nurse
Hiring Range: $42.45 - $54.13 per hour
$10,000 sign on bonus (10K after 60 days, 5k after 1 year, 5k after 2 years)*

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) team, a multidisciplinary group providing intensive, time-limited behavioral health services for individuals with complex mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. The RN will provide medical and psychiatric support through in-home and community-based care, working in partnership with therapists, case managers, vocational specialists, and peer support staff. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a field-based environment and is passionate about community mental health and recovery-focused care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical health assessments and refer clients to appropriate community medical providers, including dental and primary care.
- Administer prescribed psychotropic medications and evaluate their effectiveness and side effects in collaboration with the psychiatric provider.
- Coordinate and manage medical treatment, including lab work, medication storage, and documentation.
- Deliver psychiatric rehabilitation services to promote independent living, including support with hygiene, meal planning, budgeting, and transportation.
- Utilize motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and other evidence-based strategies to support clients managing co-occurring disorders.
- Provide education on the effects of substance use and mental health symptoms to empower clients toward behavioral change.
- Document all services thoroughly and in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate daily with the FACT team in treatment planning and progress reviews.
- Evaluate client safety and environmental risk during community-based visits; participate in crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
- Maintain productivity expectations and participate in ongoing professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Associates degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE: Entry level (no prior related work experience)
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must meet agency driving requirements, including meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years old, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.
LICENSURE: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Washington State
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE: Two years' experience in one of the following environments: Adult, Adolescent or Child Inpatient Mental Health, and/or Addiction Treatment preferred.
