Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for collection and administrative activities on delinquent mortgage and consumer loan accounts.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Contacts past due Mortgage and Consumer customers making outbound calls, e-mailing, texting or mailing notifications to them when applicable.
  • Takes inbound calls and responds to messages received through all other forms of communication.
  • Establishes reasons for delinquency through customer contact, making payment arrangements and providing solutions through extensions, collection rewrites, modifications, forbearance agreements and payment plans.
  • Maintains accurate collection records and documents details of calls in Ice or Insight.
  • Follows up with debtors regarding broken payment arrangements.
  • Follows up on auto loan titles that have not been received through normal course.
  • Prepares guarantee of title for Insurance total loss claims along with various other administrative duties pertaining to the collection process.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the position.
  • Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.
  • Understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • One (1) year experience preferred or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.

  • Prior collections (consumer and or mortgage), customer service and banking experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other collection legislation preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of collection compliance regulations on FHA/VA loans and other investor requirements preferred.

  • Ability to stay focused and organized while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication both verbal and written.

  • Good PC skills.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma/GED required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
