Job Description
At Burr & Forman LLP, we have a foundational commitment to our clients, colleagues, and communities. The firm is currently hiring for a full-time accounts receivable specialist in our Birmingham, AL office. This position involves daily bank deposits, the entry and allocation of funds into the accounting system, and the generation of cash reports for firm partners. The specialist will proactively address any overpayments and maintain accurate records while collaborating effectively with team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. Additionally, the candidate should possess a background in accounting and familiarity with legal financial environments.
MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS
- Make daily bank deposit for all checks received.
- Enter and allocate all cash receipts into the accounting system.
- Produce Daily Cash Report for the firm's partners.
- Ensure that all overpayments are researched and resolved, and that receipt applications are appropriate.
- Maintain regular, prompt attendance.
- Work well with others as part of a team.
- Perform other job-related duties.
THE ESSENTIALS
- An associate's degree or equivalent, preferably with a degree in accounting, plus one year of accounting experience; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Experience in a legal environment and with Aderant Expert software are preferred.
