Job Description

We are looking to add a Senior Accountant to the corporate accounting close and consolidations team. The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring that transactions are properly accounted for, recording journal entries, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, and partnering with various business lines to develop and implement accounting practices in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting processes for a variety of transactions in accordance with GAAP internal and external policies, procedures and authorizations.

  • Prepare journal entries dealing with more complex accounting functions including the month end close and consolidation process.

  • Review, analyze, and resolve moderately complex issues in accounting transactions.

  • Coordinate and prepares quarterly reports for inclusion in 10Q & 10K.

  • Own balance sheet accounts.

  • Research and clear outstanding reconciling transactions. Research may need to be done using various sources such as system reports or data generated from outside the department and company (i.e. external custodians).

  • Provide oversight to reconciliation of general ledger balance sheet accounts.

  • Analytical review of monthly reconciliations, ensure appropriate controls, and resolve variances.

  • Improve processes to ensure that integrity, control and optimal efficiency are established while minimizing financial risks.

  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives that support the department goals and service levels.

  • Flexibility to work on ad-hoc projects as needed/requested

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

  • 3 or more years of relevant accounting experience

  • Proven ability to lead through change and implement identified process improvements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting degree

  • CPA license, or working toward CPA license

  • Experience with Workday or other ERP system

  • Financial Services experience

  • Understanding of the close and consolidation process

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $69,900-$94,400/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
