Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Position Status: Full Time - Day Shift
Position Location: Sentara PACE - Norfolk, VA
Overview
Performs basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, checks vital signs, intake/output, ambulation and assists patient with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the PACE center or in the home. For applicants having recently completed an approved Nursing Assistant Program/Trade School, state CNA certification required within 120 days of hire. New hires with existing state CNA must be in good standing. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Education
- Graduate of a state approved Nursing Assistant program/Trade School program (Required)
Certification/Licensure
- For applicants having recently completed an approved Nursing Assistant Program/Trade School program, state CNA certification required within 120 days of hire.
- New hires with existing state CNA must be in good standing.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Experience
- Patient care, support independent and dependent activities of daily living
- Vital signs, mobility and ambulation
- Phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal
- Comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse
- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner
