Jockey is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Merchandising team!
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Merchandiser is responsible for assisting in the creation of brand assortments in the apparel product lines.
This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support identification of product opportunities and build consumer-right assortments based on data, trend, consumer insights, and the competitive landscape.
- Understand and execute product strategies that meet business unit's target sales and profitability goals.
- Act as an expert on competitive landscape for assigned categories, which includes analyzing sales data, trends, competitive market insights, and consumer insights for key takeaways.
- Understand consumer target and identify white space and opportunities.
- Support manager in communicating with cross-functional product teams (including design, product development and product marketing) in executing product that delivers on consumer need and is commercially viable.
- Support manager to cascade the product strategies and opportunities and work strategically to execute with cross-functional business partners including marketing, direct to consumer, sales, and planning.
- Ownership of sales samples and product catalogs, ensuring sales tools are effective in supporting go-to-market needs.
- Conduct marketing and competitive projects to support product positioning strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience in merchandising or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in merchandising, marketing or related field.
- Must be results-oriented with a customer focus.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical, strategic, collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated passion for products with a solid business acumen.
- Ability to manage priorities, goals, and objectives while acting with a sense of urgency.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Tableau and PLM software knowledge a plus.
