Job Description
Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart is an independent Catholic, college-preparatory school for girls, committed to the mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Position Summary:
The Education Director at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart serves as an academic leader who oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs across all divisions. This role works in close partnership with faculty, division heads, and administrators to ensure academic excellence, curricular alignment, and mission-driven teaching practices that support the intellectual and spiritual development of every student.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:

Provide vision and direction for a cohesive and mission-aligned academic program.

Collaborate with Lower, Middle, and Upper School Division Heads to ensure consistency and rigor across grade levels and disciplines.

Guide curriculum development and instructional practices that reflect best educational standards and Sacred Heart values.

Lead initiatives for educational innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and student-centered pedagogy.
Faculty Development:

Oversee professional development programming to support faculty growth, instructional effectiveness, and leadership.

Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to promote reflective teaching practices.

Support faculty in the integration of technology, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
Program Oversight:

Monitor and assess academic performance data to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement.

Ensure programs support the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual development of all students.

Oversee educational initiatives such as academic enrichment, learning support, and student success programs.
Collaboration & Communication:

Serve as a member of the school's leadership team and collaborate with administration to uphold the mission and values of Duchesne.

Communicate with parents, faculty, and students about academic expectations, goals, and progress.

Foster partnerships with external organizations and Sacred Heart Network schools for shared learning and program enhancement.
Qualifications:

Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of educational leadership experience, ideally in an independent or Catholic school.

Deep understanding of curriculum design, instruction, and assessment.

Demonstrated success in faculty development and school-wide academic planning.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Commitment to Duchesne's mission and the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education.

Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Standard office and school setting with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend responsibilities.

Ability to move throughout the campus and participate in school-wide activities and events.
