The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Laboratory Technician to work at the UHealth medical campus in Miami, Fl.

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Research Laboratory Technician aids scientists in their experiments by monitoring and recording their findings. Moreover, the Research Laboratory Technician ensures laboratory compliance with applicable safety regulations.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and operates laboratory equipment.

2. Keeps records of research data and assists in analyzing it.

3. Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.

4. Proofreads and assists in the writing of manuscripts, grant proposals, and lab protocols.

5. Prepares reports of experiment results.

6. Performs research by completing simple experiments or steps in more complicated studies.

7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Department Specific Functions

• MUST HAVE PRIOR WORK EXPEREINCE IN FLOW CYTOMETRY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE* The SCCC Myeloma Institute is looking for a research laboratory technician with a focus on flow cytometry. The ideal candidate will ensure timely sample processing, consistent gating strategies, high-quality data analysis, and optimal operation of the cytometer under lead PI and program director supervision.
