Job Description

Position Overview

The Oklahoma Lottery is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and customer-focused Software/Hardware QA Tester to support IT and operational initiatives through effective software and hardware testing, technical support, and user administration. This role is responsible for conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), offering light help desk support, managing internal application user accounts and access, and assisting with IT purchases through the state P-Card process. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for software and hardware usability and bugs, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to supporting internal stakeholders with responsive, efficient technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Software QA

  • Coordinate and execute test plans, scripts, and scenarios for new and existing technology implementations.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to define test requirements and ensure systems meet business needs.
  • Log and track defects, validate fixes, and assist in documentation of testing results.
  • Provide feedback to development or vendor teams regarding usability, bugs, and interface issues.

Help Desk & Technical Support

  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for basic IT-related support requests including software installations, password resets, and hardware issues.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and escalate to OMES or other IT partners when needed.
  • Support workstation setup, device configurations, and technical onboarding of new employees.

User Administration

  • Manage user account creation, role changes, deactivations, and access provisioning for various software platforms and systems.
  • Coordinate with OMES or system administrators to implement access control changes in accordance with agency policies.
  • Maintain records of access rights and assist with routine audits and compliance checks.

IT Purchasing & Procurement Support

  • Utilize the state P-Card to make approved technology purchases in accordance with Oklahoma central purchasing guidelines.
  • Track and reconcile purchases, maintain documentation for compliance and audits.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining IT supplies and equipment inventory.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to testing procedures, software issues, user access, and system changes.
  • Support internal audits and reporting by providing relevant records and insights.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have at least 2 years prior experience in UAT or software/hardware QA testing. Help desk support, or user administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with account management and access control in enterprise or public sector environments.
  • Experience with public sector or state IT procedures is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
  • Basic understanding of user provisioning tools, account permissions, and system configurations
  • Ability to learn and adapt to proprietary systems and testing tools
