Job Description:

Job Summary:

Manage overall operations of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) Advanced Manufacturing and Machining Facility (AMMF), supervise and train personnel to provide expert manufacturing services. Supports the Capstone Design Program, the Manufacturing Processes Lab, and the Cornerstone freshmen mechanical engineering courses.

Job Responsibilities:

35% Supervises and trains technical staff members. Responsible for management and administration of the MIE Manufacturing and Machining Facility including finances. Act as industry liaison.

30% Assists, advises and instructs students and faculty in machining and fabrication, as well as in the planning and execution of both instructional and research projects. Supports the Capstone Design Program.

30% Provides guidance with custom design, machining, fabrication and metrology services. Oversees equipment installation and materials handling.

5% Performs other tasks assigned depending upon the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; 3 or more years of expertise/experience in management, machining operations and fabrication; successful track record in the related field of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 or more years of experience in management of manufacturing machine shop or workshop operations.

Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67. Financial history/credit check required per FASOP HR-04.
