Decontamination Tech

Job Description:

The Decontamination Tech works to disassemble, clean, disinfect, assemble, sterilize and/or store medical equipment, assesses the working condition of equipment, performs routine service and identifies those requiring repair.

Schedule: Monday- Friday

Hours: 8:00am- 5:00pm

Job Description

• Sterilizes equipment, wraps clean supplies and equipment and maintains records for all equipment.
• Assembles equipment and rechecks all equipment for cleanliness and/or impairment.
• Loads and sends proper items through the washer, hand washing other items according to policies and procedures.
• Makes sure all equipment is properly maintained and all filters have been cleaned or ex-changed. Equipment and Storage.
• Logs equipment for cleaning and repair.
• Checks all equipment for cleanliness and/or impairment and checks power equipment.
• Performs routine adjustments and calibrations on equipment.
• Bags and tags all equipment indicating patient ready or requiring further repair.
• Assists with stocking and ordering supplies, assembling orders and performing deliveries and/or pick ups.

Assists with on call on a rotational basis.

Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment
• Experience in understanding and usage of computers as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position preferred.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$16.83 - $21.88
