Job Description
- Assists data entry for the Office of Public Health’s (OPH) Bureau of Family Health’s (BFH) Louisiana Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (LA EHDI) program.
- Conducts data entry of reported screening forms for infants who transfer from their birth hospital to a different hospital.
- Conducts data entry for follow-up services reports in LA EHDI-Information System (LAEHDI-IS) for infants whose birth record is not yet registered in the Louisiana Electronic Events Registry System (LEERS).
- Collaborates with the Data Coordinator and System Development Coordinator on any database discrepancies, incorrect records, missing records, and special circumstances dealing with incoming forms and/or data.
- Reviews weekly LA EHDI-IS for records of infants with manually reported hearing screening data and follow-up services.
- Maintains monthly reports of infant records that are not in LA EHDI-IS and report findings to the System Development Coordinator.
- Assists the Data Coordinator with the hospital hearing screening program scorecards and the monthly review of hospital data timeliness as reported in LEERS.
- Reviews the monthly infant death report and complete any records that are missing the proper documentation.
- Reports all records that have not been transmitted from LEERS to the System Development Coordinator.
- Assists LA EHDI staff with special projects and grant related activities.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
- Great attention to detail and follow up.
- Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
DESIRED:
- Advanced degree.
- Minimum 1 year professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
- Minimum 1 year professional experience in data abstraction, data entry, or similar role.
- Minimum 1 year professional experience with report development/maintenance.
- Relevant industry certifications.
