About the Role

The Claims Associate plays a vital role on Uber Freight's Claims and Insurance team, ensuring the proper and efficient handling of cargo claims with the aim of maintaining good shipper and carrier relationships. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to grow their career by mastering foundational claims handling skills.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Process Claims: Manage a high volume of claims with a focus on timely resolution and maintaining customer and carrier satisfaction.
• Administrative Support: Handle claim documentation, data entry, and ensure all required information is accurately recorded in Origami and other systems.
• Initial Claim Review: Conduct initial assessments to validate claim documentation, such as notices of intent, invoices, and photos, and identify eligibility based on Uber Freight policies.
• Escalation and Collaboration: Identify and escalate complex matters to senior team members or leadership when necessary, providing clear context and required documentation.
• Communication: Notify customers and carriers of claim determinations and filing requirements, providing consistent and professional updates throughout the process.
• Data Tracking: Assist in the preparation of claims data for loss tracking and departmental reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Support Claims Prevention Efforts: Identify trends in recurring issues, communicate findings to the team, and recommend preventive actions to mitigate future claims

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and collaborative approach to customer and team interactions.
• Ability to adapt quickly to process changes and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Prior Logistics or Transportation experience preferred
• Prior experience managing claims
