Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for performing laboratory test to determine chemical and physical characteristics of diatomaceous earth for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.
Essential Job Functions:
- Working Safely is Priority.
- Performs all necessary quality testing for in-process and composites as required by SKU.
- Follows work instructions regarding testing, reporting, non-conforming product, etc.
- Enters data and test results into IFS daily and into excel spreadsheets as needed.
- Communicates regularly with mill operator, shift supervisor, production manager and quality manager on any changes to test results, in-process testing, etc.
- Calibration of all QC lab equipment.
Educations, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow complex instructions.
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with web-based applications, preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing or mining, preferred
- Experience in Quality Control, preferred
