Job Summary

This role will be responsible for the timely and accurate payment of commissions. This includes creating and monitoring controls and performing tasks to calculate and audit payments. The role will manage the variable compensation process of supporting existing plans, help develop policies and processes, maintain documentation, and develop plans for automation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process commission on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

  • Calculate compensation earnings accurately and on time according to the current compensation plans.

  • Maintain commission plan information to accurately pay compensation; regularly update relevant systems/processes to be consistent with plan objectives

  • Communicate effectively with agents who have questions.

  • Be discrete & professionally manage confidential information/data around personnel and legal matters

  • Analyzes, audits, and validates production reports to ensure accuracy and eligibility for commission calculations. Identifies and communicates process improvement opportunities within the department. Help to resolve any reconciliation issues

  • Acts as the contact to resolve commission related issues, including problem assessment, research, and communication of outcome. Identifies ways to continually refine and improve commission accuracy and increase efficiency.

  • Prepares and administers incentive plan payments. Creation of standard commission calculation templates. Interpretation of compensation plans. Provide explanation, clarification, and respond to any questions that may arise regarding commission calculations.

  • Support sales commission system design, documentation, testing, and implementation to ensure the department's requirements are met

  • Assist in documenting, identifying, monitoring, and proactively improving business processes, systems, and controls related to areas of responsibility

Primary Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with insurance, with focus on commissions and sales

  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software

  • Strong technical knowledge, the ability to multitask, and excellent communication skills.

  • Advanced levels in Microsoft Office including Excel

  • Ability to investigate and resolve issues.

  • Strong analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment.

  • Collaborative working style and ability to work with external and internal teams.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment independently and with others

  • Willing to take ownership of the position

  • Ability to prioritize work product to effectively meet deadlines

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to take detailed notes on processes and procedures

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong customer service orientation

  • Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to work well under pressure and in an environment of change
