About the Unit

Comprise of Gastrointestinal, Urological, Colorectal, Bariatric, General Surgical, and Medical Surgical Patients

As a Certified Patient Care Tech (PCT), you've got that sixth sense of anticipating and answering the needs of your patients. You are part of a team concept, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Therapist, performing delegated patient care in a safe and efficient manner, completing documentation of patient related tasks and adhering to the policies and procedures. You believe in kindness, respect and empathy at your patient's bedside and deliver care like you would want for yourself and your loved ones.

All the call lights, hand holds, medical needs, family questions, and even a proverbial 'extra blanket" request, you've lost count, but you still bring your heart and soul to every single one like it's your first. And that's what we love about you.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or completion of a nursing assistant program required. Will consider two years as a certified nursing assistant or patient care tech in lieu of education.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants,

• Certified Nurse Assistant through the Louisiana State Department of Health, or

• Certified Patient Care Technician/Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant through the National Health Careers Association

• Certified Mental Health Technician

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider through the American Heart Association

• Non-Violent Crisis Prevention through the Crisis Prevention Institute
