Who We Are

On May 1st, 1989, Rich Ackley and a team of talented people pooled their combined 100 years of experience and founded Dalmatian Fire, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the same day, Rich also opened a branch office in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The second week of Dalmatian's operations, the company sold an $8,900 tenant finish sprinkler job in Cincinnati. Now, over 27 years later, we have produced in excess of $515 million in fire sprinkler revenue.

In 1995, we opened our third branch office in Columbus, Ohio, and in 2005, we opened our fourth branch office in Louisville, Kentucky.

We joined Shambaugh & Son, L.P., a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc. and together we perform more than $1 billion of construction projects per year with over 3,000 employees throughout 50 states from our home office in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Job Summary

Dalmatian is seeking a Fire Protection Small Contract Estimator to estimate and manage small contract projects. This includes attending pre-bid meetings, developing customer relationships, bidding projects, and assist in the management of these projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend pre-bid meetings.
• Develop Relationships with Contractors.
• Estimate and follow up on small contract bids.
• Perform startup paperwork.
• Assist in management of small projects.
• Order material for small projects.
• Assist in quoting of deficiencies and inspections.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Fire protection experience preferred but not required (project management, engineering, etc)
• Excellent communication skills and team player
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
• Conflict resolution/problem solving.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
