Degree RegistrarSUMMARY
Compile, process, and maintain educational records of students in a manner consistent with administrative, ethical, legal, and accreditation requirements. Process, maintain, compile, and report student information when required. Advise transcript evaluators and other staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Respond to student inquiries by phone and email. U.S. Career Institute offers students the flexibility to earn their AAS degree online, through flexible, career-focused classes.
CREDENTIALS
- Education degree or 3 years equivalent experience
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile, maintain, and distribute students' educational records in accordance with School Operation's process and deadlines.
- Obtain student records from prior institutions to ensure fulfillment of academic requirements and institutional compliance.
- Review transcripts for incoming students.
- Adapt to changes in existing procedures as needed to meet operational goals or organizational requirements.
- Adhere to organization's best practices and solutions to ensure operational efficiency and optimal student experience.
- Work with directors and staff concerned with enrollment management, student admissions, retention and student services, to coordinate services, activities, and projects.
- Manage electronic storage and evaluation of transcripts.
- Enter data, such as credits and course information into computer.
- Process student admission and withdrawal documents.
- Protect the security of student records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
- Release student information to individuals and agencies according to regulations.
- Resolve/clarify codes and courses with conflicting, missing, or unclear information by consulting with previous schools to get additional information.
- Review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
- Assist staff in resolving complex or out-of-policy operation problems.
- Process education verifications and counselor recommendations for students.
- Review and process USCI students for graduation.
- Provide excellent service while responding to student inquiries by phone and email.
- Work with students and staff to ensure satisfactory academic progress.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology
- Attention to detail
- Patience under pressure
- Ability to work at a fast pace
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
- Understanding of transcripts and course credit policies and transfer credits
- Working knowledge of FERPA
- Working knowledge and ability to comply with accreditation bodies' standards
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues
- Good time management skills
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions
- Customer service background, corresponding by phone and email
- Availability to work daytime hours Monday - Friday, schedule will range between 25 - 30 hours per week.
- Hourly wage minimum of $20; higher depending on experience
- Currently this position is a remote position, with occasional in-person training
