About the Role:
Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of Patient Access and is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Ed Registration Departments and associated functions. This includes Financial Counseling, Insurance Verification, Cash Application, ability to pay/price quoting, and regulatory compliance. Works in conjunction with Patient Access, Physician Relationship and System Maintenance Management. Administratively responsible for budget oversight and assisting with strategic planning and implementation.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree with two (2) years related experience or Associates Degree with 4 years related experience
Minimum Experience: In lieu of a Bachelors or Associates Degree there must be a minimum of fine (5) years prior management experience and ten (10) years related position experience including two (2) years of Healthcare experience in Registration, Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Managed Care environment required.

Proficient in Windows environment. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications preferred.
Demonstrated competency in working in teams and ability to effectively communicate with all levels
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of billing requirements and proper documentation/support of all requirements
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to make presentations to large and small groups within the Health Center
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with Human Resources and respective Director to appropriately select staff to perform Financial Counseling functions and to monitor/manage staff levels. Administers Human Resource policies and procedures and ensures that positive Human Resource practices are implemented.
Uses a proactive leadership style to model and promote a culture of trust and communication. Seeks suggestions and input from staff and colleagues. Promotes an active participation of all staff in decisions that affect them.
Provides leadership and mentoring to individuals reporting directly to this position. Demonstrates ability to measure individual employee performance against criteria-based performance standards and uses evaluations as management tools and opportunities for coaching and developing staff.

Assures that all departmental systems incorporate the principles of total and continuous quality improvement while exceeding the expectations of the customers.
Assures satisfaction among customer groups with the quality and amount of support provided by monitoring and responding appropriately to outcomes and feedback.
Understands the job functions of all staff, is aware of process flow across departments, and involves them, as appropriate, when recommended actions may impact their work functions.
Provides input into strategic plans, goals, objectives and budgets for all Financial Counseling Departments and contributes to the overall Patient Access Department planning as well.
Develops operational procedures related to Financial Counseling and associated departments.
Researches and recommends various technology tools available to support Patient Access and Financial Counseling initiatives.
Performs operational reviews of various Financial Counseling Processes and recommends and/or implements action plans/proposals in consultation with the all Patient Access Management.
Maintains professional development and growth through professional affiliations, seminars and workshops to keep abreast of trends in revenue and healthcare in general.
Development and implementation of policy and procedure within line of authority.
Reporting of Key Performance Indicators, forecasts, etc. related to Patient Access and/ or Financial Counseling.
Overall responsibility for hiring and supervising staff in scheduling of admissions, pre-certification, pre-registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling.
Develop and monitor specific objectives, budgets, and performance standards for each area of responsibility.
