Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse
Days- Full Time

Position Summary / Career Interest:
Provides direct patient care services in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. The Cardiac Rehab Nurse works in both the inpatient and outpatient areas of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation providing patient education, counseling on risk factor management, vital monitoring, patient ambulation and referral, performing new patient assessments, conducting and facilitating patient exercise sessions, etc. The Cardiac Rehab Nurse should demonstrate collaborative interaction as a member of the interdisciplinary team in achievement of patient care and program goals.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Conducts cardiovascular disease risk factor evaluation.
- Develops a cardiovascular risk reduction plan individualized for each patient.
- Provides patient education and counseling in a broad spectrum of health related areas.
- Guides the patient into a network of social support as needed.
- Assists the patient in developing strategies for behavioral modification.
- Provides exercise prescription and instruction.
- Instructs and leads group educational and exercise sessions.
- Monitors and obtains patient vital signs, telemetry, and symptoms.
- Interact with other team members to establish a continuum of care for the patient while an inpatient.
- Establish relationships with other disciplines and other facilities to provide for continuum of care as the patient is discharged from the hospital.
- Establish and provide in-service educational programs on cardiac rehabilitation to nursing staff, physicians department staff, students and the community.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- 3 or more years clinical nurse experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master Degree Nursing
- Experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation
Required Licensure and Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN)- Single State- State Board of Nursing Must have current active multistate state Register Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live OR active single state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application of a multistate RN license in the state in which you live.
Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
