Job Description
Ohel seeks an experienced and creative Director to lead HR functions and employee relations, and play a pivotal role in recruiting, training, and preparing our staff for the future.
We seek a leader with excellent communication skills, judgement, creativity, listening skills, and the ability to balance the needs of the organization as well as its workforce. This passionate leader should be self-motivated, conduct themselves with integrity and must maintain discretion.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop innovative strategies and lead Agency’s Recruitment team in successfully attracting and referring quality candidates for open positions
- Create dynamic staff engagement programs leading to successful employee satisfaction and retention, including mentorship programs, internships, leadership development programs, staff appreciation events and internal information sharing tools
- Coach and provide expertise in employee relations and performance management, ensuring successful partnerships with leadership and employees alike across the agency
- Direct and oversee management on disciplinary matters, assist employees with concerns or complaints, conduct employment-related functions including investigations, suspensions, and terminations
- Maintain awareness of industry HR related requirements and best practices, enforce existing Agency policies, and collaborate in developing new policies
- Lead the growth and development of the agency Volunteer cohort
Successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Masters preferred and 5+ years of related experience. Ohel offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental insurance, short and long term disability and life insurance. FSA and 403b benefits are available for eligible employees. This full time position is located in Brooklyn.
Salary: $115,000- $150,000
