Job Description

Automation Shop Technician- WaterForce

Keystone Clearwater Solutions- Full-Time | Oil & Gas Industry | Field-Based Work

Please note the Automation Shop will be moving from Canonsburg, PA to Triadelphia, WV in October 2025.

The Role:

We are hiring an Automation Shop Technician to support our WaterForce Automation team. This role is responsible for hands-on work in the shop, including inventory control, preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and assisting in building and testing automation systems. The Automation Shop Technician will also maintain detailed asset tracking and parts management using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and inventory control of the Automation Shop
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and retrofitting of control cabinets, valves, flowmeters, and electrical automation components
  • Conduct pre- and post-job functional testing and system validation of automation equipment
  • Track assets, work orders, and inventory in CMMS and inventory systems
  • Receive, log, and distribute parts from daily shipments and technician requisitions
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed on automation assets
  • Assist in the build and wiring of electrical/control cabinets and instrumentation systems
  • Support record-keeping, documentation, and quality control practices
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong work ethic and hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Experience with electronics, instrumentation, and industrial control components
  • Prior experience with CMMS or inventory tracking systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Oil & gas and/or water transfer system experience
  • Understanding of SCADA and PLC systems
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
  • Experience building, repairing, or retrofitting electrical/control cabinets
  • Knowledge of valve and actuator systems

Schedule:

Field-Based | Full-Time | 12-hour shifts possible | Travel and overnight stays as required
