This position is based on-site in the Greater Seattle Area.

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for all aspects of state medical licensing for all Sono Bello surgeons and other providers as needed. This may involve initiating or renewing medical licenses, DEAs, and CSRs. The Licensing Specialist works closely with various departments within Sono Bello, including medical leadership (MLT), surgeon relations, legal, and credentialing to ensure that all surgeons are compliant with regulatory requirements and aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. The Licensing Specialist manages surgeon relationships and leads initiatives to support clinical excellence in the Medical Services Department. The ideal candidate is positive, detailed, organized, team-oriented, a natural problem solver, action-oriented, and able to maintain a flexible mindset.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Creates and maintains physician and provider information in the credentialing database
  • Routinely monitors license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals
  • Responsible for obtaining new licenses/DEAs and state Controlled Substance numbers for surgeons/providers moving from state-to-state
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with provider information
  • Prepares files and documentation for periodic audits
  • Assists with the strategy for licensing providers to ensure streamlined efficiency within the department
  • Determines best course of action related to training, temporary or full licensure
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Occasional travel for team meetings and company events
  • Partners with credentialing to ensure all surgeons and other providers continue to meet the requirements of their job

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • One or more years of medical office or admin experience
  • Associate degree or equivalent training certification is a plus
  • Experience in the medical licensing field is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills. Ability to make decisions in a rapidly growing professional, service-orientated environment.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of information and consistently meet deadlines

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Intellectual acuity and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Stays abreast to State Healthcare standards regarding licensing physicians, practitioners and other healthcare professionals
  • Must be highly proficient in basic computer skills and the utilization of MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills; able to adjust approach to effectively work with diverse communication styles and preferences across extended teams.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, while also being flexible to change priorities if a situation requires.
  • Ability to solve problems and work collaboratively toward solutions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role follows a hybrid work schedule. Team members are expected to be onsite at our Bellevue office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with the option to work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays.

COMPENSATION:

This is a Non-exempt position with an hourly range of $24.00 - $28.00/hour, depending on experience.

Compensation Range

$24-$28 USD

Pay may vary by location, and actual compensation depends on factors like qualifications, experience, skills, and business needs. Sono Bello may adjust this range in the future. Full-time employees may also receive benefits such as incentives, equity, health coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
