Strategy Consulting Director (Strategy Consulting Dir)
Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.
We are seeking a Strategy Consulting Director to join the Office of the Head of IT at a Fortune 100 healthcare company. This is a high-impact, highly visible role focused on developing executive-level materials, facilitating cross-functional alignment, and helping shape enterprise technology strategy. The ideal candidate brings a background in management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG), with strong skills in strategic problem-solving, executive storytelling, and financial/operational analysis. You will work closely with senior strategy leaders, IT executives, and business stakeholders to drive clarity and momentum on high-priority initiatives.
How you will make an impact:
- Serves as an internal consultant to support the Head of IT and senior leaders in crafting strategic presentations, board-level updates, and transformation roadmaps.
- Leads market analyses initiatives on industry trends, competitor positioning, internal performance data, and innovation themes to surface strategic insights.
- Translates complex technical and operational content into clear, concise, and visually compelling executive materials.
- Assists in planning and facilitating strategic working sessions, including stakeholder interviews, strategy sprints, and alignment meetings.
- Develops and communicates financial models, initiative dashboards, and scenario frameworks to support executive decision-making.
- Facilitates large cross-functional working sessions and coordinates inputs from various teams (e.g., enterprise architecture, operations, finance, business units) to ensure alignment and completeness of strategy deliverables.
- Monitors execution progress on strategic initiatives and flag risks or disconnects with intended outcomes.
- Contributes to the development of strategic narratives that articulate the "why" and "how" of IT transformation initiatives.
- Relationship building and communication acumen including positive executive level interaction experiences and an ability to engage in difficult conversations are key performance indicators for the Strategic Consultant Sr, who also provides engagement/project oversight, establishes and reports on key metrics and measurements, and shares general status updates.
- Continuous Improvement coaching and mentoring to team members.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 3 years experience in management consulting, change management, large scale project management and/or process improvement leadership; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Experiences, and Capabilities:
- MBA or Master's Degree strongly preferred.
- Experience in a top-tier management consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc.) or equivalent corporate strategy team strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and slide-building (PowerPoint) skills strongly preferred.
- High comfort level with executive communication, including simplifying complex ideas, using structured frameworks, and influencing senior stakeholders strongly preferred.
- Experience working on cross-functional transformation or strategic IT programs strongly preferred.
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and demonstrates strong follow-through strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the healthcare, insurance, or technology domains is preferred but not required.
- Consulting mindset with a bias for action, clarity, and structured thinking preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on storytelling and visual clarity preferred.
- Team-oriented and highly collaborative preferred.
- Confident communicator and facilitator, comfortable engaging with executives preferred.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and stakeholders without losing sight of the bigger picture preferred.
- Ability to travel may be required.
