BMG Project Coordinator - Organizational Excellence
Directly supports the Bronson Medical Group executive leadership by serving as the lead project coordinator for the advancement of operational excellence across the medical group. The PC will spearhead developing and implementing tools and systems that support BMG provider engagement including, but not limited to, Ambient Listening/AI technology and other associated tools that improve provider and support team efficiencies.
Reporting to the BMG Manager of Operational Excellence and working closely with the BMG executive and operational leaders throughout the practices, the Project Coordinator will help to advance operational excellence, focusing on clinical, administrative, and financial decision-making for BMG, its leaders, providers, and staff. To develop and disseminate analytical solutions, the PC will partner with knowledge experts across Bronson to include IT, BMG Operations, HR, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
The PC will lead BMG projects to improve the operational efficiency, quality, patient experience, space utilization, and staffing effectiveness of a large, growing medical group practice comprised of over 750 employed providers that generate over 900k annual outpatient encounters and provide inpatient care at Bronson's four hospitals and associated care locations.
The PC will work closely with BMG's dyad leadership teams (Directors of Clinical Practice, Directors of Practice Operations, Practice Managers, Managing Physicians, etc.) to evaluate operational efficiency and performance across BMG's 10 Clinical Practice Councils (CPCs). The Coordinator will collaborate with IT and other key stakeholders to develop and roll out innovative leadership dashboards aligned with Bronson's Plan for Excellence with a focus on patient experience, access to care, people (retention/recruitment/engagement), quality of care, and growth.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare operations management experience with a preference for ambulatory/medical group practice experience.
- one year of experience in a project coordination capacity, preferably in medical group practice operations, performance improvement, action planning, and reporting/analytics.
- State of Michigan Driver's license in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience working in Epic applications, preferably supporting medical group operations.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of employees, including medical directors and top management, as well as to providers and outside entities. Considerable tact and communication skills are required to gain consensus in complex situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses and defines data needs and validates and conducts an analytical review of all data.
- Collaborates with Bronson Medical Group leadership and other Bronson resources to analyze and interpret cost, financial, clinical, and trending data to identify business opportunities for improvements and growth.
- Collaborates with Bronson IT, Finance, HR, and other key departments to monitor metrics & targets.
- Creates and trains BMG leaders on dashboards/scorecards to drive process improvement efforts
- Assist leaders in identifying sources of best practice and innovation to identify opportunities for improvements
- Project leadership/management for multidisciplinary groups, including:
- scheduling meetings
- establishing and achieving timelines
- documenting group activities
- ongoing monitoring of group effectiveness
- accountability for group outcomes
- developing/recording recommendations for change
- developing/revising policies and procedures related to the project
- develop training tools to support successful outcomes
- measurement of outcomes
- independently analyze/evaluate work processes related to BMG expense management, revenue, staffing, and space efficiency across all BMG clinic locations and provides recommendations to leadership.
