Job Description:
Attend pre-energization walks and provides standby support to third party inspection team.
Assist in Cx software issue management for Cx / technical issues.
Responsible for coordination of access L3/L4 /L5 testing (lining up escorts, badge access coordination, etc.).
Responsible for technical documentation review at each gating level (L3 Startup, L4 72hr. Lookahead, etc.).
Field support of startup / shutdown activities.
Responsible for L4/L5 readiness walk support with Cx Agent (CxA). Works with field supervision team to ensure spaces are ready for scheduled testing activities.
Field support and coordination for technical issue closure.
Field support and vendor coordination for L3 activities in conjunction with L3 Superintendent team.
Field support for L4/L5 commissioning activities.
Coordination of vendors / trade partners for L3 startup support and L4/L5 support.
Able to review and validate LOTO plans with an understanding of site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE) policies.
Review of pertinent Method of Procedures (MOPs) to Cx scope (with assistance of team lead where necessary).
Field support of pertinent MOP activities related to Cx scope.
Provide L3/L4 script review and comment.
Complete walks prior to equipment pre-energization inspections to validate readiness (backup support to Mechanical & Electrical Superintendent team).
Responsible for Cx-related BIM issue identification and management.
Communicate with Building Management System (BMS) team to drive resolution of L3/L4 BMS issues.
Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position's and team's objectives.
Construction management, technical engineering degree, or equivalent industry-specific experience.
Minimum 2 years experience working with mechanical, electrical, and building controls systems.
Understanding of engineering principals related to mechanical and electrical building systems.
Experience in leading a team.
Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.
Engineering degree preferred.
Direct experience in technical scope management.
Direct commissioning/ commissioning management experience (vendor, Cx agent, subcontractor, or GC Cx management).
Experience in field leadership of technical scopes/activities.
Direct experience with LOTO / Control of Hazardous Energy Programs.
Work is performed on an active construction site. Role requires standing or walking for long periods of time. Utilize standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Communication with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing. May occasionally move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Ability to travel to site up to 5 days/week or relocate to city near project site.
