Job Description
Job Summary:
Reports to the Scheduler & Plant Manager. Responsible for maintaining accurate WIP cycle counts in Plant 3 and in manufacturing. Performs cycle counting functions and identify problematic areas. Identify the source of inventory problems and communicate issues to the supervisor or manager. Investigate inventory issues, track history of cycle counts and execute cycle count corrections. Strong emphasis on bar code scanning and working with employees to develop and maintain inventory by locations. Will train Production Specialists & Team Members on inventory and 5S procedures.
Knowledge | Experience | Skills:
Inventory Control, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Computer literate in MS Office and Excel. Ability to communicate detailed observations of inventory concerns in a timely manner. Ability to use standard office equipment such as keyboard, calculator, and fax. A valid NC Driver's license is required. Must have forklift experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform physical inventory counts and compare results with system data. Counts must cover all locations for individual SKUs to ensure the entire system is correct for that SKU. Changes cannot be made to a location without all locations being verified.
- Research discrepancies between physical and system counts, and conduct searches in order to locate inventory. Must report findings on discrepancies to Operations leadership (Managers and Director) prior to making manual adjustments.
- Maintains count records and data files
- Performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them
- Assist in the reconciliation of daily negative on hand quantities and resolving the root cause of the problem
- Report inventory discrepancies and any damaged products to supervision- publish weekly and monthly inventory metrics
