About the Role
We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead one of our most strategic initiatives: building a suite of features to help people determine what to do with their money in order to achieve their financial ambitions. This role is about making big, complex financial questions simpler and easier to action for our Members to - things like determining whether to pay down debt or save more, understanding the best next-step for available cash, understanding how to spend today without jeopardizing future expenses, and more.
As a product leader in our organization, you will be expected to inspire with your vision/roadmap, set ambitious goals, be gritty, and be accountable to results. You'll also work across all functions (data science, design, engineering, business, etc) to build something that's intelligent, trustworthy, and truly useful in SoFi's quest to help Members Get Their Money Right.
What You'll Do
- Refine and develop strategy, roadmap, and deliverables to help identify and optimize available cash, spanning short-term recommendations and long-term financial planning.
- Build systems that synthesize real-time financial data (income, spending, goals, obligations) to drive personalized recommendations and actions.
- Design and build low-/no-friction flows that enable users to take actions (e.g. move money, adjust goals).
- Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering to design and iterate on decision engines that balance automation with user control.
- Develop a clear understanding of regulatory considerations, especially around money movement and advice.
- Lead experiments to validate hypotheses and measure impact on key outcomes like financial health, user confidence, and engagement.
- Champion customer needs with deep empathy for pain-points and trust signals.
- Influence broader company strategy around financial guidance and AI-driven financial tooling.
What You'll Need:
- 8+ years of product management experience, ideally with consumer fintech, personal finance, or intelligent assistant products.
- Experience building data-driven products with intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
- Deep understanding of consumer financial behavior, especially in budgeting, saving, or liquidity management.
- Strong technical fluency and ability to collaborate with data scientists and engineers on modeling, optimization, and automation.
- User-first mindset with excellent product intuition and obsession for delivering real value.
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, tradeoffs, and evolving constraints.
Nice to have:
- MBA
- Experience working with LLMs or generative AI
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.

Pay range: $163,200.00 - $280,500.00
Payment frequency: Annual
