The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) provides peer support services, based on an individualized, recovery-focused service philosophy that allows individuals the opportunity to learn to manage their own recovery and advocacy process. The PRSS will work to enhance the development of natural supports, coping skills and other skills necessary to function as independently as possible in the community, including, but not limited to assisting re-entry into the community after incarceration, a hospitalization or other institutional setting. The PRSS serves as an advocate and provides information and peer support for consumers in emergency, outpatient or inpatient settings. The PRSS performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control of their lives and recovery processes. Must possess the skills to maintain a high level of professionalism, ethics and interactions with all ODMHSAS stakeholders. This position is a mix of in office, telehealth and community-based services. Key Responsibilities: Provide compassionate, peer-based support to individuals navigating recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges. Empower clients to develop coping strategies, build natural support systems, and achieve greater independence in their daily lives. Support successful community reintegration, especially for those transitioning from incarceration, hospitalization, or other institutional settings. Advocate for clients' needs and share valuable information and resources to support informed decision-making. Maintain clear, accurate documentation of all services provided, adhering to agency protocols and ethical standards. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while upholding a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all interactions. Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and community partners. Professionalism and confidentiality in all client and agency-related matters. Preferred: Ability to read and interpret professional and regulatory materials, and to write clear, professional reports and documentation. Affiliate faculty for the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program are highly qualified professionals with an earned doctorate in counselor education, from a CACREP-accredited program, or have a related doctoral degree and experience as a licensed professional counselor. They are able to integrate their Christian faith in the classroom to disciple the next generation of Christian leaders in the professional counseling profession. The primary role of the affiliate faculty is teaching which focuses on instruction, assessment of student learning outcomes, and program evaluation. Most courses are offered in an accelerated format with synchronous and asynchronous components. Core courses are taught using blended formats designed for adult learners. The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is a year-round program. This is not a full time position. An Affiliate Faculty position (often called Adjunct Faculty in higher education) with CCU can be for either our College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) or College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS). This is an opening for CAGS, which typically offers classes in an online environment using our Learning Management System (Brightspace). Most classes meet for five weeks, however some classes are offered in 7, 9, and 10 week formats. EMS of Virginia is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) registered with the Board of Counseling to provide Intensive In-home Counseling and Mental Health Skill Building Services in the greater Richmond area (city of Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Petersburg, Hanover, and surrounding areas). We have an immediate need for counselors who are licensed or licensed-eligible in Virginia as an LCSW or LPC, and will offer FREE supervision toward licensure on a leadership track for full-time team members.
