The selected candidate will work with juvenile justice-involved young people ages 12 - 20 years old (most of the youth served are 14 -18 years old) in DYS residential facilities. The selected candidate performs various care and security activities in connection with young people in the custody of the Department of Youth Services. They will observe the conduct and behavior of juveniles assigned to the facility; maintain liaison with staff members, law enforcement agencies, professional specialists, and others. They serve as a part of a team to provide guidance and direction to the JJYDS and JJYDS Shift Supervisors and supervise the operations of assigned shifts. Observe the conduct and behavior of youth confined to the facility and take appropriate action to prevent disturbances and/or escapes, to ensure compliance with established policies, regulations, and procedures, and to ensure the safety of staff and youth; provide one-to-one youth watch, including suicide, elevated, and medical watch to ensure the safety of the youth. Conduct intake of youth and complete appropriate documentation; document behavioral issues to establish patterns and monitor changes; complete incident reports and transportation, medical, visitor, and daily operations logs to inform appropriate personnel during meetings and shift changes. Provide crisis and behavior management to youth as a means to prevent and or intercede with crisis situations; facilitate and/or co-facilitate group meetings to assist the youth in developing coping skills to deal with their problems and issues and to develop pro-social and life skills; establish a rapport with the youth and advocate for the youth to ensure that their needs are being met; provide guidance and support through daily interaction and role modeling in order to facilitate re-entry into the community. Perform and oversee various care activities of youth in custody of the agency such as escorting and/or transporting them to activities, the recreational areas, meetings, and medical appointments; participate in activities to maintain order and security of the assigned facility and to monitor participation. Maintain electronic records/documents regarding daily behavior and activities of youth including incident reports. Coordinate and oversee the activities and programs of an assigned program, service, or division to ensure effective operations, proper care, and treatment of youth and to ensure compliance with governing laws, rules, regulations, and established standards. Justice Involved Supported Housing (JISH) provides 30 units of scattered site supportive housing to homeless individuals with a probable mental health illness and/or a substance use disorder, with recent histories of cycling through the NYC criminal justice and shelter system.  Program staff provides case management and other supportive services to enable clients to achieve the skills and financial independence necessary for independent living.  Clients also receive partial financial assistance with utility costs.   Position: Housing Specialist Reports To: Operations Supervisor Location: 19 Winthrop Street What The Housing Specialist Does: Identify suitable apartment for eligible clients. Obtain leases and other required documentation from landlord and prepares lease packages for processing. Submits new leases and/or lease renewal packages for review to Operation Supervisor/Senior Program Manager in a timely manner. Ensures that apartment units are ready prior to occupancy. Schedules and accompanies new clients and current clients, if needed, to apartment viewings. Set up utilities with electric and gas utility companies. Prepare and submit furniture request for new apartment set-up. Prepare new start-up supplies for new incoming clients. Schedule and participate in all clients move ins. Act as liaison between case managers, maintenance workers, and agency’s fiscal department to address various issues i.e., housing plans, maintenance work/repairs, fiscal issues. Submit program’s weekly vacancy report on a weekly basis. Keep track of expiration dates of leases. Process work orders as needed and reviews all signed work orders to ensure work has been done. Reviews all utility bills and submits to agency’s fiscal department on a weekly basis. Investigate clients’ complaints of unpaid utility bills with agency’s fiscal department, case conference with case manager and client if necessary. Conduct program required unit inspections as required by funding source. Maintain accurate records (i.e., furniture, maintenance supplies, food, office stock) on premises and/or in community-based apartments. Input all provided client related services into program’s assigned database- i.e. Client Track, CAPS, etc. Request Emergency Assistance to assist clients in paying clients’ portion of utility bills, if needed. Respond immediately to emergencies and inform supervisor. Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested. Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education/Experience Required: Sufficient education and technical expertise: to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders); basic math to accomplish maintenance tasks; and to document accomplished tasks. Bilingual in Spanish. Other Requirements: Basic Knowledge of housing related issues Knowledge about, understanding of, and ability to work closely with, persons with HIV/AIDS and related issues. Knowledge about, understanding of, and experience working with, housing systems, facilities management, and maintenance needs. Compensation : $47,000.00 annually- When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. Position Summary

Lead all aspects of project delivery and client relationships while driving business development initiatives in the Justice+Civic sector. Oversee project teams, financial performance, and design excellence from pursuit through completion. Serve as the primary client contact while ensuring successful project outcomes that meet both client goals and firm objectives.

What you will do:

  • Drive business development through RFP responses, client interviews, and contract negotiations
  • Lead comprehensive project planning including schedules, staffing, budgets, and scope development
  • Manage relationships with government agencies, public stakeholders, and institutional clients
  • Oversee project teams, consultants, and vendors to ensure quality deliverables within established parameters
  • Monitor project financial performance, including invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Develop and track project milestones, status reports, and quality standards
  • Provide leadership and performance feedback to project team members
  • Coordinate and document client/staff meetings and key decisions
  • Collaborate with design leaders to maintain design excellence across all project phases

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field
  • Professional licensure preferred
  • 8+ years experience, including 5+ years in justice and civic architecture with demonstrated expertise in courthouses, detention facilities, or government buildings
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and government contracting
  • Expertise in design techniques, tools, and construction methods specific to secure facilities
  • Proficiency in project management software (Vantagepoint, Planifi, INDEPRO) and Microsoft Suite
  • Excellence in stakeholder management and public presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex public projects
  • Understanding of building codes, security requirements, and institutional design standards
