Position Details The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at The University of Tampa invites applications for three (3) assistant professors in the areas of criminology and criminal justice, beginning August 2026. The Department offers a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice and an M.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Tenured and tenure-track faculty members have a 3-course per semester teaching load. Upper-division courses are typically capped at 20 students. Faculty members are expected to actively engage in research, provide service to the department, college, and university, as well as advise criminology and criminal justice majors. Responsibilities: Teach 3-14 contact hours each semester Provide required skills assistance to students Assist in developing course blueprints Assist in developing internship sites and articulation agreements with other colleges for the Justice Studies program Serve on campus committees and participate in campus events Ensure instructional success and model lifelong learning through continuous professional development Complete and maintain a teaching portfolio Teach day, evening, and/or weekend class at any of our area campuses Job Requirements: Graduate degree in Criminal Justice or J.D. required Substantive employment experience in the field desired, particularly in criminal investigation Successful teaching experience and excellent classroom skills as reflected in classroom observations, student evaluations, course documentation, etc. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and student success Commitment to continuous curriculum enhancement and application of best practices Strong team player Demonstrated ability to make meaningful and positive connections with diverse student body in a career college environment To Apply: Please submit cover letter, resume, unofficial transcripts, and teaching philosophy during electronic application process. Job Description

Criminal Justice Specialist 2

Duties: In this role, you will provide assessment, triage, and brief therapy to clients incarcerated in jail and provide case management and coordinates client care services for dually diagnosed clients with substance abuse issues and mental illness who are in the criminal justice system.  Maintains case management documentation. You will also assist clients in achieving established goals through the use and provision of various services and resources.

Basic computer, phone and typing skills are necessary for all positions.
