The undergraduate criminal justice program is interdisciplinary and introduces students to the study of agencies, personnel, philosophies, procedures and methods that comprise the criminal justice system in the United States. The program is designed to expose students to various aspects of existing law enforcement systems, judicial systems and correctional systems within an ethical and constitutional context. Of particular need are individuals well suited to teach courses in policing, criminology, victimology, and/or corrections. The College of Arts and Sciences requires adjunct faculty to teach courses at our campus in Boca Raton, Florida. Our on-campus undergraduate classes are conducted Monday through Thursday, in 2.5-hour class sessions, for four-week terms. Purpose: The Justice Services Jail Re-Entry Therapist is responsible for the provision of therapeutic interventions for persons referred from justice organizations to Clinica Family Health & Wellness. Job Summary: Develop and carry out a consistent plan of treatment, from intake and assessment to closure. Coordinate treatment with legal entities including probation officers. Participate in staffings with internal and external partners to coordinate care. Essential Functions: Provide a variety of case management services, including managing Social Security payeeships, assisting clients to apply for various types of public assistance and providing supporting documentation, attending multi-agency clinical case consultations, and facilitating referrals to other organizations. Participate in internal consultation and supervision with team members and other professionals in the organization. Pursue professional growth and development by seeking out learning opportunities and integrating new learning into daily work practice. Maintain working knowledge of Evidence Based Practices, current Co-Occurring Disorder treatment recommendations and trends in community mental health, including health care reform. Collaborate with clients, other treatment team members, DHHS, doctors, hospitals, medical clinics, housing programs, etc. to provide the best service to the clients. Participate in multidisciplinary focus groups, committees, and task forces charged with researching and improving clinical practices and developing or updating programs and business processes. Promote, supports and demonstrates MHP's mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adheres to policies, procedures, Compliance Plan and Standards of Conduct on a day to day basis. Effectively interacts and communicates with other CFHW staff/clients/customers/partners/etc. Other duties as assigned. Specialized Duties: Justice Services- Jail Re-Entry Specialized ongoing caseload comprised of clients currently in custody in Boulder County Jail requiring therapeutic treatment. Develop plans of transition for clients to successfully transition back into community from jail/prison while achieving mental wellness. Provide mental health and co-occurring disorder consultation to assist with integration of mental health and substance use services within the court system. Work collaboratively with internal and external partners such as: Jail Programs, Probation, Public Defender, District Attorney, law enforcement, monitoring agencies, and other treatment providers to assist clients in their recovery process and to ensure the continuity and quality of care. Provide case management services to support connections to resources in coordination with the Jail Re-Entry Peer Support Specialist and Justice Services Case Manager. Attend regular staffings with community partners, including as needed meetings in criminal justice settings such as court or jail. Facilitate contact with active clients of CFHW who are incarcerated in the Boulder County Jail. SUD Provide mental health and co-occurring disorder clinical services, using best practice standards. Knowledge of motivational interviewing, stages of change theory, stage-wise treatment strategies to intervene and motivate clients. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their side effects and contraindications with drugs of abuse and report any relevant observations to medical personnel. Coordinate Medication Assisted Treatment with medical providers as needed for clients to support recovery goals. What we need for this job: Masters in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field and an internship and prior experience in a clinical setting Must be license eligible and actively working toward licensure of Licensed PhD or PsyD, Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT) Training in CBT, DBT, MI, EBP, and Solution-Focused Therapy, preferred Some positions may be required to have current CO Driver's License, a safe driving record. Position Details

The Department of Criminology in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors in criminology and criminal justice.

Responsibilities will include:

1.  Teach introductory courses in criminology and criminal justice.

2.  Follow department requirements for syllabi and other course related materials.

3.  Teach course(s) according to department guidelines.

4.  Provide meeting times for students.

5.  Complete course grading and submit final grades on the on-line system.

The successful candidate will have:

1.  Master's Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice (or closely related discipline) required; Doctorate preferred.  A law degree does not substitute for a Master's Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice.

2.  College level teaching experience; experience teaching Criminology/Criminal Justice classes preferred.

3.  Relevant work experience a plus but not required.
