See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: As Part of the FBC Marine Operating Center Team, the Prep and Rig Technician is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and outfitting a variety of marine vessels to ensure they are safe, clean, and water ready. This role involves mechanical installation, paint application, equipment rigging, and assisting with vessel movements in the yard. The ideal candidate has hands-on marine experience, strong attention to detail, a team-first attitude, and is comfortable working outdoors in a physically active role. Essential Functions: Responsible for installing safety and mechanical equipment and applying paint coatings on marine vessels using specialized tools. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, laws, and regulations. Ideal candidates should be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and team players with a positive attitude. Prepare boat bottoms by scraping, sanding, grinding, and cleaning surfaces. Apply epoxy primers, anti-fouling paints, and other coatings using spray equipment or by hand. Identify and properly apply various paint types for specific marine applications. Install safety and mechanical equipment including life jackets, fire extinguishers, throw cushions, anchors, etc. Check and maintain appropriate fluid levels such as oils and grease in vessels. Ensure vessels are clean, fully equipped, and ready for water before departure. Assist with vessel hauling, launching, rigging, unloading, and yard staging. Sand, prep, mask, and protect surfaces to ensure a professional finish. Handle hazardous materials safely; ensure proper storage and disposal of solvents, paints, and waste. Keep accurate work records, including timecards and vessel-specific documentation. Perform general yard duties, including maintenance and equipment upkeep. Maintain tools and company equipment, report issues to the manager. Comply with all safety protocols, laws, and regulations. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., respirators) as needed. Complete tasks on time and be available for overtime when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Required Qualifications: Prior experience working in a marina, boatyard, or similar marine environment. Familiarity with different types of boats and basic seamanship skills. Experience with marine coatings, including sanding, priming, masking, and applying anti-fouling and epoxy paints. Understanding of boat rigging processes, including launching, hauling, and installing safety/mechanical equipment. Basic knowledge of marine systems, engines, and preventive maintenance. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment safely and effectively Valid driver's license and good driving record Must be at least 21 years old Must pass a background and drug screening Preferred Qualifications: Training or certification in hazardous materials handling, OSHA safety standards, or use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Experience with documenting work performed, reading work orders, or using maintenance tracking systems. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Working Conditions: Must be able to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs, overhead and awkward-position work, and operating in confined or elevated spaces. Requires strong visual and sensory abilities, including close and distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work is primarily in non-climate-controlled environments with potential exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and fiberglass dust; PPE such as gloves, goggles, respirators, and coveralls is required. Tasks may involve long hours, marine environments, and working at heights, including safe navigation in and out of boats and platforms. Physical demands range from sedentary to heavy labor, including transporting materials, using power tools, and maintaining physical positioning for up to 10 hours. Travel Requirements: N/A The anticipated pay range for this position is $15.50, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Position Overview:

As Part of the FBC Marine Operating Center Team, the Prep and Rig Technician is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and outfitting a variety of marine vessels to ensure they are safe, clean, and water ready. This role involves mechanical installation, paint application, equipment rigging, and assisting with vessel movements in the yard. The ideal candidate has hands-on marine experience, strong attention to detail, a team-first attitude, and is comfortable working outdoors in a physically active role.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for installing safety and mechanical equipment and applying paint coatings on marine vessels using specialized tools.
  • The role requires adherence to safety protocols, laws, and regulations.
  • Ideal candidates should be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and team players with a positive attitude.
  • Prepare boat bottoms by scraping, sanding, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Apply epoxy primers, anti-fouling paints, and other coatings using spray equipment or by hand.
  • Identify and properly apply various paint types for specific marine applications.
  • Install safety and mechanical equipment including life jackets, fire extinguishers, throw cushions, anchors, etc.
  • Check and maintain appropriate fluid levels such as oils and grease in vessels.
  • Ensure vessels are clean, fully equipped, and ready for water before departure.
  • Assist with vessel hauling, launching, rigging, unloading, and yard staging.
  • Sand, prep, mask, and protect surfaces to ensure a professional finish.
  • Handle hazardous materials safely; ensure proper storage and disposal of solvents, paints, and waste.
  • Keep accurate work records, including timecards and vessel-specific documentation.
  • Perform general yard duties, including maintenance and equipment upkeep.
  • Maintain tools and company equipment, report issues to the manager.
  • Comply with all safety protocols, laws, and regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., respirators) as needed.
  • Complete tasks on time and be available for overtime when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a marina, boatyard, or similar marine environment.
  • Familiarity with different types of boats and basic seamanship skills.
  • Experience with marine coatings, including sanding, priming, masking, and applying anti-fouling and epoxy paints.
  • Understanding of boat rigging processes, including launching, hauling, and installing safety/mechanical equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of marine systems, engines, and preventive maintenance.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment safely and effectively
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass a background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training or certification in hazardous materials handling, OSHA safety standards, or use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Experience with documenting work performed, reading work orders, or using maintenance tracking systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs, overhead and awkward-position work, and operating in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Requires strong visual and sensory abilities, including close and distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Work is primarily in non-climate-controlled environments with potential exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and fiberglass dust; PPE such as gloves, goggles, respirators, and coveralls is required.
  • Tasks may involve long hours, marine environments, and working at heights, including safe navigation in and out of boats and platforms.
  • Physical demands range from sedentary to heavy labor, including transporting materials, using power tools, and maintaining physical positioning for up to 10 hours.
