This position for a pediatric mental health OT will serve inpatients on our Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU). This position will focus on the teaching of life skills and coping strategies through daily occupational therapy groups for all patients, as well as provide individual consultation for patients on the PBMU requiring more specific OT evaluation and treatment. The therapeutic groups run by this occupational therapist will serve both as a social milieu to practice functional skills and also as a screen to identify patients that may benefit from further individualized treatment. Individualized evaluation and treatment will focus on development of self-care skills, including coping, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and functional impairments impacting activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Background in inpatient mental health and group management is preferred. Required Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree in occupational therapy from accredited university. Required Credentials: Current Washington State license to practice as an occupational therapist. BLS. Preferred: Masters Degree in occupational therapy. Experience in acute care pediatric occupational therapy. Job Description

This position for a pediatric mental health OT will serve inpatients on our Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit (PBMU).  This position will focus on the teaching of life skills and coping strategies through daily occupational therapy groups for all patients, as well as provide individual consultation for patients on the PBMU requiring more specific OT evaluation and treatment. The therapeutic groups run by this occupational therapist will serve both as a social milieu to practice functional skills and also as a screen to identify patients that may benefit from further individualized treatment. Individualized evaluation and treatment will focus on development of self-care skills, including coping, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and functional impairments impacting activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).  Background in inpatient mental health and group management is preferred.

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelors Degree in occupational therapy from accredited university.

Required Credentials:

Current Washington State license to practice as an occupational therapist.

BLS.

Preferred:

Masters Degree in occupational therapy.

Experience in acute care pediatric occupational therapy.

Compensation Range

$46.96 - $70.43 per hour
