The Interventional Psychiatry Technician (Part-Time) will provide Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments and esketamine treatments to our patients. The role involves daily administration of psychiatric rating scales under supervision, participation in patient assessments, monitoring patient responses, providing educational information, and complete patient notes. Responsibilities Patient Care: Provide compassionate care to patients struggling with mental health conditions. Administer TMS treatments according to specific physician protocols. Assist in administrating esketamine treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Accurately take patient blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation (pulse oximeter). Offer reflective listening and empathy to support patients with mental health conditions. Clinical Support: Set up TMS and esketamine administration equipment, ensuring all aspects of treatment sessions are accurate and comfortable for the patient. Monitor patient responses during and after treatment, promptly reporting any adverse reactions to the supervising physician. Record psychiatric rating scales and session notes using the EHR system. Schedule and manage patient follow-up appointments. Ensure compliance with research protocols. Administrative Duties: Coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers, healthcare offices, and staff. Maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in consultations and assessments as needed. Perform additional administrative tasks related to patient care and treatment coordination. EMR and/or NextGen/AMD experience desired. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Minimum of one year of direct patient care experience required. TMS Certification. Training will be provided during the first initial 90 days if the candidate does not have certification. Care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. The PBMU is committed to the evaluation and behavioral stabilization of children (ages 4 through 17) with emotional, behavioral, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Depression, developmental delays, attention deficits, anxiety, pervasive developmental disorders, conduct disorders, oppositional-defiant disorders, anorexia/bulimia, and psychosis are among the disorders commonly diagnosed. The unit is also invested in treating children with unique concomitant problems such as hearing impairments, chronic medical illnesses, or physical developmental disabilities. The PBMU program utilizes a model of care that emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach. Registered nurses; child and adolescent psychiatrists; psychiatric nurse practitioners; psychologists; mental health therapists; social workers; pediatric mental health specialists (PMHS); special education teachers; occupational, recreational, art, music, and speech therapists; and students from these various disciplines all participate in the development of individualized treatment plans. Care includes the provision of behavior management in a milieu setting; family/caregiver and patient education; group activities; supportive family/caregiver and individual support; psychotropic medication management; and limited medical nursing services. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. We are looking for a RN to join our team at BayRidge. BayRidge is our 64 bed Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital located in Lynn, MA! Assumes responsibility for providing skilled, creative, high quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care from admission to discharge.  Collaborates with other nursing staff and other allied disciplines to ensure that a safe and therapeutic environment is maintained for all patients.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the role of medical nurse when assigned, assist the consulting internist and Nurse Practitioner with exams and perform treatments, tests and procedures as ordered
  • Monitor the patient milieu for safety issues and assist with promoting a positive therapeutic environment
  • Respond to patient care needs and issues, assist patients with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living. Collaborate with and direct other nursing staff to assist with any patient nursing needs
  • Admit, discharge and transfer patients to and from department/unit ensuring that patient safety is addressed and monitor patient valuables during belongings search
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and develop plans of care
  • Administer medications to assigned patients and monitor effectiveness
  • Assess, plan and implement care on all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient’s status. Report and record any findings to the MD and charge nurse
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in nursing preferred from an accredited school of nursing  
  • Current professional license registration (RN license) in Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

$36.00 - $80.00
