Job Summary: CLASS DEFINITION A Nutrition Technician monitors the food service activities of residential child day care providers or assesses applicants' nutritional risk for Federally funded supplemental food programs. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week and may be required to work evenings and weekends. Work is performed in clinics or in homes of day care providers where working conditions are normal. Work requires minimal physical exertion. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must: EDUCATION: Have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dietetic Technology approved by the American Dietetic Association. OR EQUIVALENCIES NOTES: Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 15 credit hours in foods and nutrition may be substituted for the Associate of Applied Science degree. Ability to maintain files and case folders legibly and accurately. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to prepare narrative and statistical reports. Skill in basic nutritional counseling. Skill in interviewing. Job Summary:

CLASS DEFINITION

A Nutrition Technician monitors the food service activities of residential child day care providers or assesses applicants' nutritional risk for Federally funded supplemental food programs. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.

Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week and may be required to work evenings and weekends.
