The ideal intern candidate will effectively articulate the importance of nutrition in promoting better health outcomes to various audiences. The preferred internship dates will be May 18, 2026 thru August 7, 2026 but flexibility may exist due to later academic schedules in CA. This internship position will be based in the state of California. The internship has been posted in two CA cities, but it is for ONE internship. Please do not apply to both locations. Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to Schedule and facilitate MTM education sessions with medical offices, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and other organizations virtually and/or in-person Maintain and/or create organizational systems that compile potential referring organizations’ information using Excel and Customer Relationship Management systems Assist with projects aimed to facilitate greater community awareness of the Community Supports program, which could include creating and/or delivering webinars, written materials, or other media Participate in strategic meetings, with ample opportunity to provide suggestions and deliverables to enhance community awareness of MTM Complete project-based tasks associated with the Community Supports program Required Skills and Experience Currently a college sophomore level or higher; open to graduate level intern candidates as well Currently pursuing a degree in Social Work, Public Health, Nutrition Science, Communications, Marketing, Business, or other applicable field; Dietetic Interns are especially encouraged to apply Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher Excellent written communication skills Willing to become more skilled and experienced with public speaking Willing to travel regionally for in-person meetings and events Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel Must have a wired internet connection using an ethernet port. A Brief OverviewHelps provide quality customer meals through snack and meal assembly, service, and cleanup. Assist with meal service activities.What you will do
  • Prepare and organize assigned food items efficiently and accurately for patients and other customers.
  • Serve food items in accordance with diet, specifications and menu requirements.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, dishes, pots/pans, floor mats, floors, and work areas following proper procedure.
  • Stocks storerooms, refrigerators and work areas with supplies using first in, first out principle and appropriate dating.
  • Operates dish machine and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • May work the register, close out register and counts money. Properly places money and money drawer in designated location.
Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
