Job Description: Reporting to the Program Director for the MAT program, the faculty member holding this position will contribute 18 credits per year (nine per semester) of teaching and managerial responsibilities. Minimum Requirements: Master’s or doctoral degree in Art Education or related field At least three years of full-time experience teaching in K-12 schools Record of professional excellence in teaching and mentoring students Evidence of experience in one or more of the following: practicum placements, clinical supervision, liaising with school district offices, advising undergraduate/graduate students, curricular innovation, grant writing. Preferred, but not required: Familiarity with state and regional assessment and accreditation protocols, including MSDE and MSCHE Experience in clinical supervision College-level teaching experience in Art Education beyond graduate assistantships (part-time or full-time) Sustained contributions to the field of art education at regional or national levels An active studio or scholarly practice Familiarity with inclusive pedagogical and theoretical approaches to art education. Position Summary The Sound Tech (Adjunct Faculty) will provide consultation on Vertex developing a wireless mic system for the production of In the Heights, integrating wireless mics with the current sound system, teach students how to effectively and safely set up and use the sound and wireless mic system, and support running sound for all technical rehearsals and performances for In the Heights. This position supports student learning through structured sound instruction, rehearsal facilitation, and collaboration with the production team. The role is temporary and instructional in nature, aligned to the musical’s rehearsal and performance schedule. Key Responsibilities Advise Vertex on renting or purchasing a wireless mic system that effectively integrates with current Vertex sound system Plan and teach students to properly set up and run wireless mics for the Vertex theater productions Provide direct instruction to students to import and run sound cues for Vertex theater productions Balance the sound speaker system to ensure all audience members can clearly hear sound and music for Vertex theater productions Collaborate with the In the Height’s director, music staff, and production team to ensure alignment with instructional and artistic goals Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment during rehearsals Adhere to school policies, schedules, and supervision expectations Attend rehearsals and performances as required during the appointment term Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field preferred Demonstrated experience with technical sound production for musical theater performances Experience working with students in an educational or teaching-artist capacity Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to differentiate instruction to support varying student skill levels Must be eligible to work as a DOE-registered teaching artist (fingerprints and background check on file or eligible) Professional performance experience in sound tech/design preferred Supervision & Evaluation The Sound Tech will work in collaboration with the Arts & Athletics Department under the supervision of the department chair. Performance will be evaluated based on professionalism, instructional effectiveness, and contribution to the successful execution of the spring musical. Compensation This is a temporary, stipend position with a term date of January 2026 - March 2026. The stipend for this position is $3,000. Physical Requirements This role may require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted, including assisting coworkers when needed. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, and looking at a computer screen for long periods at a time. BRIDGE Teacher The BRIDGE Teacher provides instruction, assessment , and program planning for identified special education scholars with primary learning disabilities, autism , speech-language impairments, and other health impairments in a self-contained setting. BRIDGE Teacher Duties: Develop and teach engaging lessons that follow NCS’ rigorous curriculum and provide fast-paced, stimulating instruction with a high level of differentiation Drive academic outcomes by analyzing data, reviewing scholar work, and implementing high leverage instructional moves to ensure gains for all scholars Identify the needs of scholars and develop individualized goals through formal and informal assessments Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to progress at accelerated rates, meet goals, and master concepts and skills Solicit, welcome, and incorporate feedback to improve instructional practice Maintain records of students' progress Develops and implements Individualized Education Program (IEP) and behavior plans in consultation with staff and families to ensure success for all scholars Confer, collaborate, and consult with teachers and staff regarding the educational, social, emotional and physical needs and objectives of each student, implementation of the IEPs and special educational services Attend IEP meetings as needed Develop strong relationships with families through frequent communication and assist parents in understanding and supporting educational objectives, learning expectations and behavioral standards Maintain a secure and effective learning environment with impeccable order and clear expectations and routines Participate in state-wide testing, including providing testing accommodations for New York State ELA and Math Exams and facilitating New York State Alternate Assessment Develop and maintain a room environment that is clean, organized and student centered Instruct and direct assigned paraeducators and instructional assistants to maximize delivery of instructional services Participate actively in weekly Case Conference meetings and grade level team planning meetings to assist with lesson differentiation, accommodation and modification as needed Reflect on progress as educator and seeking out professional resources to continuously improve one’s practice Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or their designees.
